The  6th Annual National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children Conference is a three-day event providing training on the latest research and best practice strategies for Drug Endangered Children efforts at the community, state and federal level. The conference will include topics related to child welfare, environmental health, medical, prevention, the judiciary and drug courts, substance abuse and mental health, continuum of care and topics specific to Tribal Nations. 

 

Conference Objectives
This educational offering will enable the participant to:
       1)       Develop local, state and federal alignment in drug endangered children 
       2)       Identify the availability of resources and technical assistance for state and tribal alliances
       3)       Explain how to change long-term outcomes for drug endangered children and their familie
       4)       Discuss latest research and best practice strategies for drug endangered children efforts at the 
             community, state and federal level
       5)       Describe how to develop relationships, share resources and deliver services to Native American 
             communities
       6)       Discuss the Indian Child Welfare Act and describe how to protect children and preserve Native
             American culture
       7)       Demonstrate how to utilize the family and other personal supports in a positive way by understanding
             the psychological and social needs of children from addicted families
       8)       Discussion on latest research of perinatal methamphetamine exposure and environmental health
             chemical contamination from methamphetamine
       9)       Define the community-based best-practice programs for chemical contamination clean-up,
             drug courts, forensic interviewing, and effective substance abuse treatment
       10)    Illustrate how to have positive working relationships between disciplines utilizing joint protocols for
             the comprehensive approach to drug endangered children case
