The 2009 National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) Conference will be held from September 22-24, 2009 in beautiful Spokane, Washington. This 6th annual event will begin with three optional pre-conference workshops on Medical, Tribal and Core DEC training. The main conference will offer attendees twenty-seven breakout and plenary sessions over two days that will address DEC issues in the areas of Medical and Environmental Response; Tribal and Community; Law, Justice and Collaboration; and Prevention, Intervention and Treatment.

Featured speakers include: Rob McKenna; Attorney General, State of Washington; Mark J. Hudson, MD, Child Abuse Specialist, Children's Hospital of Minnesota; Diane Payne, Tribal Law and Policy Institute; Lori Moriarty, National DEC; Janiece Siegerist, CEO, National Assessment and Developmental Services; Nick Taylor, PhD, Taylor Behavioral Health; and Denise Brazzell, who will share her story of a childhood impacted by drugs.
