Is your program doing the latest and greatest? Do you have research that you would like to share? We want to know. Please submit your abstract by August 17, 2009 to Susannah Carroll at scarroll@nationaldec.org. Up to ten (10) abstracts will be selected for a posterboard presentation at the 2009 NADEC Conference. Abstract Submission Information: - Posters and papers will be presented at the posterboard sessions scheduled during the conference
- Both qualitative and quantitative research is encouraged
- Abstracts that will increase use or application of innovative and effective practice are of particular interest
- A multidisciplinary selection committee will review the abstracts; individuals will be notified no later than September 7, 2009 about acceptance of their abstract, at which time they will be provided with guidelines for preparation of the posters
- Selected abstracts will also be distributed at the conference and posted on the website
Evaluation criteria: - Quality and originality
- Potential significance, i.e. development or concepts that other programs could replicate
- Clarity of the communication of ideas
- Relevance to disciplines that work with drug endangered children
Instructions for Abstract Submission: - All submissions should be emailed to scarroll@nationaldec.org by August 17, 2009
- Subject line should read: Call for Abstracts
- The body of the email should include only:
- The name of person submitting abstract
- Contact information (phone number and email address required)
- The abstract submission should be an attachment to the email, not in the body of the email
- Use double spacing for the text of the abstract and limit to one page (including title, authors, etc.)
- The abstract should consist of the following section headings:
- Title (in capital letters, centered)
- Presenting author's name, credentials and position
- Single space list of authors and location of institutions, departments or organizations where work was performed or developed
- Three (3) Learning Objectives/Expected Outcomes.
- Description of program, project or document, including: background, purpose, methods, results/outcomes and implications for practice
- Any and all funding sources (if applicable)
